IPTV Not Working? 10-Point Checklist — Polska IPTV troubleshooting guide

IPTV Not Working? Your 10-Point Checklist

If you have ever settled in for an evening of streaming only to find your IPTV app refuses to load, you know exactly how frustrating it is. The screen sits there buffering, or the app opens to a blank channel list, or half the channels load while others show an error — and you have no idea where to start.

The good news is that almost every IPTV problem falls into one of ten categories. Work through this checklist in order and you will identify and fix the issue in under ten minutes in most cases. Each check is quick — do not skip ahead, because problems often compound and the first item on this list resolves issues that look like they should be further down.

Check 1: Is Your Internet Connection Working?

This sounds obvious, but a surprising number of IPTV "outages" are actually internet outages. Open a web browser on the same device and load any website. If the page fails to load, restart your router (unplug it, wait 30 seconds, reconnect). Also check whether other devices on your network have internet access. If only one device has no connection, the issue is with that device's network settings rather than your IPTV service.

Check 2: Is Your Speed Fast Enough?

A working internet connection and a fast enough internet connection are two different things. Run a speed test at speedtest.net or fast.com. You need at minimum 10 Mbps for HD streaming and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. If your speed test results are low, try streaming at a lower quality setting first to confirm this is the issue, then contact your ISP.

Check 3: Have Your Credentials Expired?

IPTV subscriptions have an expiry date. If your subscription has lapsed, the server will reject your credentials and channels will not load. Check the expiry date in your IPTV app (most apps display this in the account or subscription information section). If your plan has expired, contact Polska IPTV via WhatsApp support to renew quickly.

Check 4: Did You Enter the Credentials Correctly?

Typos in the server URL, username, or password are extremely common — especially when transcribing from a mobile message to an app on a TV. Double-check every character, paying special attention to the difference between the numeral 0 and the letter O, the numeral 1 and the letter l, and uppercase versus lowercase. Many IPTV credentials are case-sensitive.

Check 5: Restart the IPTV App

Force-close the app completely (not just tap the home button — actually close it from the app switcher or task manager). On Android, go to Settings → Apps → your app → Force Stop. On iOS, swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app card off the screen. Reopen the app and try again. This clears any crashed state or stale connection the app was holding.

Check 6: Clear the App Cache

Over time, apps accumulate cached data that can become corrupted. On Android: Settings → Apps → your IPTV app → Storage → Clear Cache. On smart TVs, look for a similar option in the app settings or the TV's system settings. Clearing cache does not remove your playlist or credentials — it only removes temporary files.

Check 7: Check for DNS Issues

Your device may have trouble resolving the IPTV server's domain name through your ISP's DNS servers. Try switching to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1) in your router or device network settings. This is one of the most overlooked fixes and resolves connectivity issues on ISPs that have slow or filtered DNS. See our full buffering fix guide for step-by-step DNS instructions.

Check 8: Try a Different App

Sometimes an app update introduces a bug that breaks playback. If your primary IPTV player is not working, try entering the same credentials in a different app. For Android, install Hot Player as an alternative. For smart TVs, IBO Player is a reliable fallback. If the same credentials work fine in a different app, the original app has an issue — update it, or stick with the working alternative until an update is released.

Check 9: Test on a Different Device

If streams fail on one device but you have not tested on another, do so now. Install your IPTV app on a phone or tablet and enter the same credentials. If it works on the second device, the issue is specific to your original device — likely a hardware decoder problem, outdated firmware, or insufficient processing power for high-bitrate 4K streams. Update the original device's firmware or reset it to factory settings as a last resort.

Check 10: Contact Your Provider

If you have worked through all nine checks above and the problem persists, it is time to contact your IPTV provider directly. Provide as much detail as possible: the device you are using, the app and its version, the exact error message (screenshot if possible), and at what point the failure occurs. Polska IPTV support is available via WhatsApp and typically responds within minutes. We can diagnose server-side issues, push credential refreshes, or migrate you to a different server if needed.
